Lead Food and Hospitality Associate (DAY SHIFT)

Masonicare at Middlewoods of Farmington - Farmington, CT

Day Shift / 40 hrs/wk /             

Monday - Thursday 7am-3:30pm and EOW



Summary of Position: Under the direction of the Director of Dining Services and/or Designee, serves as the primary resource for waitstaff, food service workers, and food and hospitality associates during meal service. Acts as role model for team members while executing core functions and contributing to the overall success of meal service. Prioritizes resident needs, uses sound judgment, and practices customer service excellence in all professional interactions.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


1. Reviews staff assignments with leadership and communicates to team prior to meal service. Ensures staff work efficiently and collaboratively to complete preparatory and post-service tasks.


2. Participates in menu class and takes lead in preparing team to present to residents in a clear, informative and courteous fashion.


3. Waits tables, meets residents’ needs, and interacts with residents, families, guests, and coworkers in a courteous and professional manner.


4. Ensures team works collaboratively regarding: sanitation of the kitchen; washing dishes, glasses, and utensils; sorting and rolling of silverware; removing garbage from kitchen and placing in designated area.


5. Ensures team is punctual and in compliance with Masonicare policies; escalates issues as appropriate to Director.


6. Under direction from supervisor, organizes and cleans stock rooms and coolers. 


7. Attends all mandatory education events and in-services. Works with supervisors on communicating to and training of staff.


8. Follows established training programs for new hires, and facilitates effective new hire training, cross-training, and development of team members.


9. Contributes to a positive and resident-focused work environment.


10. Other related duties as assigned




Minimum Qualifications:


Education: Some high school


Experience: Previous experience with waiting tables, hosting dining rooms, and kitchen cleanliness practices preferred.

Key Competencies: Knowledge of dining room systems and good communication skills.

Physical and Mental Demands: Continuous standing, walking, bending, crouching, pushing/pulling, carrying and lifting. Stress related to demands of meeting customer satisfaction.


Provides care and services that demonstrate behaviors and the principles of person-centered care including affording people dignity, respect and compassion, offering coordinated care, support and treatment and care that is personalized.
