The Director of Mission Engagement & Community Outreach, reporting to the CEO, is responsible for advancing the mission of Masonicare by leading spiritual life initiatives, volunteer engagement, fundraising efforts, and external community partnerships. This role fosters meaningful connections between residents, employees, volunteers, donors, and the broader community to enhance the overall mission and impact of the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Spiritual Life & Mission Integration
- Develop and oversee programs that support the spiritual well-being of residents, families, and staff.
- Partner with chaplains, clergy, and community faith leaders to provide spiritual services and resources.
- Promote the organization’s mission and values presence in daily operations, resident care, and employee engagement.
- Support interfaith initiatives and cultural inclusivity in spiritual programming.
Volunteer Engagement & Community Partnerships
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support resident programs, special events, and community service initiatives
- Build relationships with local organizations, faith groups, and schools to create meaningful volunteer opportunities.
- Recognize and celebrate volunteers through appreciation events and recognition programs.
Fundraising & Philanthropy
- Work collaboratively with the development team to support fundraising initiatives, donor engagement, and planned giving programs.
- Partner where needed on mission-driven fundraising events and campaigns to support programs and services.
- Introduce donors and stakeholders to cultivate long-term relationships and philanthropic partnerships.
System Promotion & Outreach
- In collaboration with EDs and Marketing, develop and drive outreach initiatives that increase awareness and engagement with the broader public.
- Represent the organization at community events, speaking engagements, and networking opportunities.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Nonprofit Management, Public Relations, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mission engagement, volunteer management, fundraising, or community outreach, preferably in a senior living or nonprofit setting.
- Experience in faith-based programming and community partnerships.
Skills:
- Strong leadership, relationship-building, and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire and engage volunteers, donors, and community stakeholders.
- Understanding of fundraising principles, donor cultivation, and event planning.
- Knowledge of senior living and the unique needs of older adults.
