Painter

Performs routine and specialized painting and related tasks to maintain the condition and appearance of the community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1.         Fills nail holes, joints and cracks in walls with putty or spackle. Removes old finish and replace doors or window glass. 

2.         Selects premixed paint or mixes paint to achieve desired color. Applies coats of paint to exterior and interior surfaces.  Paints, varnishes, stain, enamels, lacquers and redecorates wall, woodwork and fixtures of the community using appropriate tools and techniques.

3.         Achieves special effects such as wood grain, marble, tile or brick utilizing cloth, brush, sponge, fingers or other accessories or tools.

4. Keeps work area orderly, clean and safe. Ensure proper care in the use of equipment and supplies.

5. Utilizes TELS system to complete work orders. 

6. Assists maintenance mechanics on projects as directed by supervisor.

 7. Assists in snow removal, clearing of walkways and the application of de-icing products.

 8. Attends meetings as required. Participates in in-service programs.

 9. Understand and follows universal precautions and chemicals as it pertains to the department.

 10. Communicate effectively and tactfully with residents r/patients recognizing their age, needs, abilities and physical condition.

 11. Performs other duties as required.

 Minimum Qualifications:

 Education:                   High School or GED.

 Experience:                 3-5 year of experience as a professional painter
