RN Designee / Assisted Living Assistant Director

Day Shift - Temporary - 40 hours per week
**PAID ON-CALL ROTATION**
This is an ALSA Designee role per state regs.
The Wellness and ALSA Manager provides clinical leadership, in conjunction with the SALSA, to all residents of Masonicare at Ashlar Village. He/She is the “ALSA Designee” per state regulations and meets the criteria to act in the absence of the Supervisor of Assisted Living Services Agency (SALSA) for the CT AL licensure. Is responsible for providing health related services designed to anticipate and enhance the safety needs and well-being of Assisted and Independent Living residents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides clinical assessments to determine next steps for coordination of services, Education to family or resident, and Referral of services with resident, family and other appropriate individuals as needed.
- Works alongside ALSA Director to coordinate and manage all nursing and assisted living aide services rendered to the clients by direct service staff under his/her supervision.
- Assures compliance with appropriate regulatory standards with regard to policies, standards of care, documentation, staff education etc.
- Provides ongoing education to clinical team to meet regulatory requirements.
- Remains available for nursing services on a twenty-four (24) hour basis. On call responsibilities shared with the SALSA and South Team. Flexibility to work open nursing shifts when needed to include all 3 shifts.
- Participating in the development of all agency objectives, standards of care, policies and procedures concerning nursing services and the provision of assistance with activities of daily living.
- Strive to meet regulatory requirements as define in the ALSA Regulations as it relates to resident care, staff, and other requirements as needed.
- Participating in interviewing of potential staff, selection, orientation and in-service education.
- Provide weekly report to the Resident Service Coordinator regarding statistical data including the number of clients served and services provided and include any issues associated with provision of core service or concerns with the MRC or ALSA.
- Assist residents in securing alternate living arrangements if they no longer require or are no longer clinically qualify for assisted living services.
- Plans and coordinates monthly health and wellness presentations for residents in cooperation with Activities Manager.
Qualifications:
Education:
A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing with two years full time experience (one year in home health care or community health required) OR A diploma or Associate's Degree in nursing with four years of full time experience over the past 10 years (one year of home health care or community health required)
Licensure:
Registered Nurse with valid Connecticut license
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must possess strong clinical, organizational, record keeping and documentation skills; able to function independently and exercise sound judgment and initiative; able to respond calmly to crisis or emergency and have strong facilitation and team work skills. Position requires excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills. Previous management experience and knowledge of State of Connecticut ALSA regulations and the Medicare and Medicaid programs is required
