*This is a Paid Per Visit position (PRN)*
Rate of pay for this service is $35/visit plus mileage reimbursement where applicable.
Summary of Position: The Hospice Expressive Arts Specialist is responsible for using multi-media art to facilitate expression for the client.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works with other team members in developing a plan of care, which addresses patients of all ages in physical, emotional, social, cultural, and spiritual needs.
- Visits all patients to facilitate expression utilizing Multimedia art. Engages patients/families in a skillful and sensitive manner towards expression of psycho-spiritual material.
- Records all patient/family visits and/or contacts and communications in a timely fashion on the Expressive Arts contact sheet and/or electronic medical record.
- Case conferences with interdisciplinary team members regularly regarding all patient/family status. Participate in weekly Interdisciplinary Team meetings.
- Provides training and in-services to staff and volunteers regarding the use of arts for expression/support of all patients/families on hospice.
- Communicates effectively and tactfully with clients, recognizing their age, cultural diversity, needs, abilities and physical condition.
- Can be depended upon to report to work on-time, and complete annual education & medical requirements
- Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: College degree or equivalent experience in Art Therapy.
Experience: One year of work experience and appropriate references. Knowledge of the Hospice concept/philosophy. Knowledge of the psycho-social issues related to death and dying.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Maintains current Drivers’ License and auto insurance.
