Full Time / Exempt / Day Shift
Managers and oversees the operation of maintenance and environmental services for Masonicare at Bishop Wicke, Masonicare at Crosby Commons Commons and Masonicare at Wesley Heights.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for oversight of maintenance and EVS staff at Shelton campus to ensure day to day operations run smoothly.
- Oversees the planning and scheduling of maintenance staff for work assignments and specific projects. Ensures that any work completed meets all safety and building regulations.
- Develops a budget to meet the needs required to maintain and improve the facilities including salary, expense and capital budgets.
- Works with leadership in coordinating activities of staff, contractors, inspectors and services for campus maintenance department. Oversee or delegates to staff to manage outside contractors.
- Maintains departmental reports and records and collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes. Applies knowledge of state building code, state construction procedures for capital improvement and informal projects and practical knowledge of several trades including plumbing, heating, and air conditioning.
- Coordinates preventative maintenance schedules and prioritizes repair and maintenance work to minimize disruption of operations. Provides technical instruction and guidance to technicians that plan or perform preventive maintenance for all types of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including knowledge of instruments and test equipment using in testing and adjusting systems. Develops preventive maintenance (PM) standards and oversees implementation of the PM Program campus wide. Leads and supervises technicians in the planning and scheduling of preventive maintenance activities on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Oversees life safety preventive maintenance and testing programming, including sprinkler systems and fire alarm system.
- Assumes the overall responsibility for the Environmental Services (housekeeping and laundry). Establishes performance goals, allocates resources, and reviews policies/procedures in order to ensure departmental effectiveness.
- Ensure that cleaning schedule for campus is complete to assure a safe and clean environment for residents and staff.
- Understands and follows Infection Control and is aware of all chemicals used in the department.
- Ability to work from blueprints and drawings.
- Secures and negotiates bids from contractors when necessary.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: High School or trade school graduate required;
Bachelors’ degree preferred.
Experience: 5-7 years experience in the trades and managing a similar size facility.
Licensure: Some type of trade license in the State of CT is desirable. Valid CT driver’s license required.
